It’s Carlisle Music Festival this week and I’m entering about 10 classes – including three duets! Eight + 1 is entered in the ‘ensemble’ class with Shearing’s Live with Me and Be My Love and will be performing this and other Shearing works at our …and a little bit of Shakespeare… concert in Brampton Methodist Church on 22nd April. This marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death and will contain musical settings by other composers of the Bard’s words and readings from Shakespeare. There will also be musical settings of other poets’ words and proceeds from the evening will go to Medecins sans Frontieres.
