Much of this blog is about running; principally trail running in Cumbria and beyond. In January 2017 I started Head Torches round the Tarn with a group of friends who wanted to start or continue running, and to run through the winter. Talkin Tarn is the perfect place for beginners and in the winter with a head torch (and, if there is enough moon and a starry clear night, without) can be completely magical.
Some people started doing one lap walk/jog; they soon gained a certificate for one lap, then one for two… in June 2017 a big group of Head Torches ran the Race for Life; for one her first ever 10km was the stunning Kielder Dark Skies 10km in January this year; as I write this several have just done the Lakeland Trails Cartmel 10km.
And PO, who turns 50 this year, has decided that as her challenge for her 50th birthday year she is going to run around the 16 biggest lakes in the Lake District. This means the final run will be the 40-mile Windermere Way…
